At Stepping Stone, Children Are divided into groups of eight for class time. Both structured and unstructured activities are offered during the day. A child gains a sense of security in a structured environment while unstructured activities develop independence and individuality . Both are an important part of the daily program.
7:30 – 9:00 am- Arrival and free exploration of learning centers
9:00 – 9:15 am- Good morning greeting and calendar activities
9:15 – 10:00 am- Class time–pre-kindergarten skills (Phonics, math, science, art, special projects such as cooking)
10:00 – 10:30 am- Outdoor activities—free play, games, jump rope (enhancing large motor skills)
10:30 – 11:00 am- Story time and snack
11:00 – 11:30 am- Circle time–singing, dancing, discussion of day’s events
11:30 – 12:15 pm- Outdoor Play
12:15 – 12:45 pm- Story time and lunch
12:45 – 2:30 pm- naptime
2:30 – 4:45 pm- Story time and snack, outdoor play
4:45 – 6:00 pm- Evening circle time—story, music, play
